November 30, 2015

I missed blogging so here I am, back blogging. Sometimes it might be on a daily basis, sometimes not. I've knitted a great many projects in November, and it was a good month to knit socks. Although to be fair there is no month in which I don't enjoy knitting socks. On instagram I've shared the socks I've knitted this month. I've enjoyed knitting with Regia Arne & Carlos design line and Regia Zoofari.

November has been filled with gorgeous new projects, new yarn (FELICI!) and also new techniques. I learnt to use a 12" circular for sock knitting this month and what a beautiful adventure that was. I also knitted up my first colour work project, that was also my first knitted ornament.

I'm really looking forward to the challenges of December. December is a month that is free of gift knitting, as I decided not to gift knit this year. Having said that I may end up knitting up a few last minute presents for my boys from Susan Claudino Designs patterns. But I'm not pressuring myself to gift knit this year.

I went quite crazy with Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales this year:
  • I bought an insane amount of yarn at Knit Picks Cyber Monday sale this year. You check out the masses on both posts on Instagram: picture 1 and picture 2.
  • I bought a beautiful bundle of safety eyes and noses from Fresh Stitches this morning.
  • I bought two patterns from Susan Claudino in her flash sale today too!
Needless to say I don't need yarn anytime soon! I have two large boxes of sock yarn right now and I need to make a dent in it before I buy anymore.

My life has taken some turbulent up and down moments lately so I'm looking forward to digging deep into my stash and knitting some beautiful socks over the coming weeks! Right now I'm working on a Fairytale Winter Hat (pattern by Susan B Anderson, link here). I'm knitting this with baby yarn that is light worsted so it will probably be too small for me and end up being donated, but I'm okay with that. I'm planning to make a beautiful light yellow hat with the same pattern. I will share my progress over the next few days of my beautiful Fairytale Winter Hat.
